‘소액결제 현금화 사업은 불법이다. 정보통신망법은 ‘통신과금서비스이용자로 하여금 통신과금서비스에 의하여 재화등을 구매·이용하도록 한 후 사용자가 구매·이용한 재화등을 할인해 매입하는 행위에 ‘1년 이하의 징역 또는 3천만원 이하의 벌금에 처하도록 규정하고 있을 것이다.
전년 금감원은 소액결제 현금화 등 불법금융광고를 방송통신심의위원회에 신청해 사이트 폐쇄와 게시글 삭제, 계정 중지 등을 확정했지만 ‘언론 보도에는 대응하지 않았다. 금감원 지인은 “언론의 보도는 광고로 규정할 수는 없어 보여서 판단쉽지 않은 면이 있습니다”고 하였다.
